Japanese railways are well known for their extreme punctuality. They are never late, never early. This has been proved in various instances.
JR West, the Japanese railway company posted an apology and a press release on the company’s website for being to early for 25 Seconds.
Here is what the message read:
“The great inconvenience we placed upon our customers was truly inexcusable,” according to the press release. “We will be thoroughly evaluating our conduct and striving to keep such an incident from occurring again.”
The incident happened as the train’s conductor misunderstood the departure time and sent out a signal for the train to leave the station. As a result people who planned to board the train were delayed by 7 minutes as they have to catch the next train.
In a country like Japan, people are very serious about being punctual to school and workplaces, this would be a serious issue and this is why the company issued an apology.
