Ever since its inception, Patanjali group, promoted by Baba Ramdev, is chanting the need for ‘Swadeshi Products’. As part of this initiative, the group has launched a swadeshi alternative to the popular Instant messaging app, WhatsApp.
Kimbho app – which surfaced on Android and iOS sometime late Wednesday – has been scoffed as a security nightmare by well known French security researcher who goes by the pseudonym Elliot Alderson on Twitter.
The app exposed the usernames, passwords and other personal details in the plain text and seems to be built on top of an app called BOLO Chat app. Another hilarious thing is that even the developers haven’t changed the app description and names in permission popups.
This @KimbhoApp is a joke, next time before making press statements, hire competent developers… If it is not clear, for the moment don't install this app. #Kimbho #KimbhoApp pic.twitter.com/wLWzO6lhSR

Prior to this Google has already removed the app from PlayStore. As of now, the app is available on Apple’s appstore.
What are your thoughts on Patanjali’s Swadeshi digital products?
