In the wake of new Malware, FBI is urging the public to reboot their Internet router to prevent the spread of a potentially hazardous malware known as ‘VPNFilter’.
Reports claim that as many as 500,000 devices in 54 countries might be compromised. FBI says that this malware can interrupt internet access, steal information from users, and use the device to spread malware.
The magnitude of the potential damage is growing because of IoT, the Internet of Things. The malware targets routers produced by several manufacturers and network-attached storage devices by at least one manufacturer. The initial infection vector for this malware is currently unknown
